Amanda Coppes scored the game's only goal against CWRU.
An early goal by Amanda Coppes proved to be the difference, as The College of Wooster women’s soccer team snapped a two-match losing streak with a 1-0 victory over Case Western Reserve Saturday (Sept. 20) at Carl Dale Field.

During the 24th minute, Coppes scored unassisted to give the Scots a 1-0 advantage. For Coppes, it was her fourth goal of the season and team-leading 10th point.

Wooster (6-2) made that goal stand up, but it wasn’t easy, as the Spartans pressured the Scots’ defense, particularly in the second half, when they fired eight of their 11 shots on goal. Case Western Reserve (3-1-2) also had four corner kicks in the second half, but could not convert.

Becca Scina picked up the win in goal for Wooster, recording her fourth shutout of the season.

The Scots continue their non-conference schedule this week with home matches against Westminster (Pa.) Thursday (Sept. 25) and Carnegie Mellon Saturday (Sept. 27).
