Wooster Records Second-Straight Shutout With 2-0 Win over Penn State-Behrend

The College of Wooster women's soccer team recorded its third-straight victory and second consecutive shutout by defeating Penn State-Behrend 2-0 Wednesday afternoon at Wooster.

Despite dominating the action throughout, the Scots were unable to tally its first goal until the second half. At the 35:52 of the final period, freshman Liz Martin (Cleveland Heights, Ohio / Cleveland Heights) took a cross from sophomore Stephanie Hulke (Basking Ridge, N.J. / Ridge) and headed it by the Lions' Lauren Arrigo for a goal.

Just over two minutes later, freshman Jessica Bacon (Rocky River, Ohio / Rocky River) collected her second goal of the season with an assist from Martin.

Wooster's defense was dominant, allowing Penn State-Behrend to fire only five shots, compared to the 13 shots the Scots took. As a result, freshman Nicole Roman (Akron, Ohio / Archbishop) only had to record to saves to post her second shutout of the season.

Wooster, which improved to 3-1 overall, return to action this Saturday when it hosts Alma at 1 p.m.
