Women's Soccer Routs Alma 9-0, Brown Wins No. 100

Wooster women's soccer coach David Brown earned his 100th career victory yesterday afternoon as the Fighting Scots defeated Alma 9-0 at Carl Dale Memorial Field.

The Fighting Scots dominated play throughout, holding Alma without a shot the entire match. Wooster opened the scoring 13:40 into the match with a goal by freshman Jessica Bacon. Less than five minutes later, sophomore Liz Martin scored off a pass from Bacon to give the Scots an early 2-0 lead. Wooster increased that lead to four by halftime with goals by sophomore Sara Austin and junior Emily Cole.

It was more of the same in the second half, as the Scots added five goals. Martin, sophomore Stephanie Hulke, freshman Beth Hemminger, junior Emily Cole, and junior Erica Chouinard each tallied a score for Wooster. Also, Bacon, Hulke, Cole, and Chouinard each recorded one assist on the afternoon.
