Scots Tabbed Fourth in NCAC Womens Soccer Poll
The College of Wooster womens soccer squad is expected to secure a spot in the four-team North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament for the third-straight year, as it was predicted to finish the regular season in fourth-place by the eight league head coaches who partook in the preseason poll. Wooster, which has reached the NCAC tourneys championship game each of the last two seasons, received 53 points, just behind Allegheny College (55), while Ohio Wesleyan University (68) and Denison University were picked 1-2, respectively. Six of the first-place votes went to Ohio Wesleyan, and Denison landed the other two. Seeking to break into the conferences top-four are Kenyon College (38), Wittenberg University (33), Earlham College (22), Oberlin College (16), and Hiram College (11), which rounded out the vote. The Scots will travel to John Carroll University next Wednesday (Sept. 1) for the teams season-opener, and then Wooster will host the College of Mount St. Joseph and Millikin University on Saturday (Sept. 4) at 2 p.m. and Sunday (Sept 5) at 1 p.m., respectively.
