For the second consecutive game, The College of Wooster women's lacrosse team jumped out to a 12-1 lead by halftime and then cruised to the victory in the second half. This time, Kenyon College was the victim and the final count read 18-5 at a windy Carl Dale Memorial Field.

It appeared to be a much more even match-up going into the North Coast Athletic Conference contest, with both teams owning 6-1 overall records and having gone unblemished thus far in the league. However, a six-goal burst over a six-minute stretch midway through the first half turned a 3-1 game into a 9-1 advantage, and put any thoughts of Kenyon keeping it close to rest.

Wooster (7-1, 3-0 NCAC) went on to add three more to close the half and the first three of the second, bringing its number of unanswered goals to 12.

The Scot offense took high-percentage shots, scoring on 18 of its 31 attempts, led by Megan Kennedy's six goals on eight shots. She also added an assist for a season-high seven points, while fellow senior scorer Beth Hemminger, coming off a 19-point week, netted three goals and helped out on two others.

Other Wooster players with multi-point days were Allison Mione, who had two goals and one assist, Megan Sward, who found the back of the net once and contributed two assists, Mary Risley, who scored twice, and Ashley Arnold and Lizzie Newton, who added one goal and one assist apiece.

The Ladies' Melissa Blum had two goals in the setback.

Nicole Hunt, the NCAC's leader in save percentage (.640) had another solid outing in net for the Scots, making 10 saves while playing all 60 minutes.

Wooster has two more conference games on tap during a busy stretch, as it will host Wittenberg University (3-5, 2-2 NCAC) on Thursday (April 18) at 4 p.m., before traveling to rival Denison University (7-4, 3-0 NCAC) on Saturday (April 19) for a 1 p.m. game.
