The College of Wooster women's lacrosse team upped its record to 2-1 on the year with an 11-9 win over Ohio Wesleyan today (March 29) at Cindy Barr Memorial Field, in the squads' first North Coast Athletic Conference game of the season.

The win was Wooster's first over the Bishops since 1995 and ended a five-game losing streak to its conference rival.

Sophomore Kim Christensen came up with another sterling effort in the net, while the Scots used a balanced offensive attack with seven different players scoring goals. Christensen, who was second in the league in save percentage after last week's games, recorded 21 saves against the Battling Bishops.

Wooster's Maggie Buckingham, who is the reigning NCAC Player of the Week, led the offense with five points on four goals and one assist. The senior attacker is now just three goals shy of becoming the eighth Scot to reach the 100-career goal milestone.

Wooster defender Megan Kennedy, a freshman, contributed two tallies to the winning cause. Scoring one goal apiece for the Scots were junior Katelyn Connolly, junior Jessica Critchlow, sophomore Miriam Esber, freshman Beth Hemminger, and sophomore Emily White.

Next up for the Scots is Denison, which will travel to Wooster for a contest on Saturday, April 1, at 1 p.m.
