In its second game in western Pennsylvania over the last five days, the College of Wooster women's lacrosse team fell to Division II Indiana (Pa.) 10-7 this afternoon (April 9). After dominating Allegheny 17-3 last Wednesday (April 5), the Scots made several runs, but could never take the lead over the Indians. Indiana (Pa.) held a slim 4-2 lead at halftime and then went on to score the first three goals of the second stanza to take control of the contest. Wooster rallied, scoring three of the next four goals to make it 8-5, but the Scots would not come any closer. Offensively, Wooster was led by senior Maggie Buckingham, and sophomores Miriam Esber and Emily White, who tallied two goals apiece. Beth Hemminger, a freshman, contributed the other score for the Scots. Sophomore Kim Christensen continued her fine play in goal for Wooster, making 11 saves on the day. Wooster has an important week ahead of it with a pair of home conference games on its schedule, starting with Oberlin on Wednesday, April 12, at 4:30 p.m.
