Scot Spikers Set Down Case in Four» Box ScoreFor the second-straight year, The College of Wooster defeated Case Western Reserve University in four games during non-conference volleyball action on Tuesday night (Sept. 3). This season's scores against the host Lady Spartans were 30-23, 30-20, 25-30, and 30-21. Wooster was paced on Tuesday by the play of newcomer Tiffany Rice, who registered 15 kills and a .480 kill percentage, as well as a three solo blocks and two assist blocks, to lead the team in all four categories. Also posting double-digit kill numbers were Erin Donnell and Mary-Kate Fowkes with 10 apiece. They also led the Scots' defensive effort with Fowkes digging out 15 balls and Donnell producing a 10-dig match. Top setters for the squad were Beth Moore and Becky Rohlfs, each tallying 24 assists. Wooster will debut at home this weekend (Sept. 6-7), as it hosts the Kilt Classic, a tournament featuring eight teams from across the region. Play at Timken Gymnasium is scheduled to begin Friday night at 6 p.m. |
