College of Wooster junior Ali Drushal (Lakeville, Ohio / West Holmes) was named the 2007 North Coast Athletic Conference Libero of the Year, her second-straight selection, as announced by league officials on Saturday, November 3, in conjunction with the NCAC Tournament championship match. Joining Drushal on the all-league team were a pair of seniors in setter Heather Wolff (Mansfield, Ohio / Madison Comprehensive) and middle hitter Erin Wright (Akron, Ohio / Walsh Jesuit), who were both selected to the honorable mention squad.
Drushal picked up her second all-conference recognition in volleyball, earning a spot on the first-team, after being named to the second-team following last season. Drushal played in all 108 games this season, registering 874 digs and narrowly missing her own single-season record of 888. She led the Scots and the NCAC in digs per game (8.09) and averaged 0.27 service aces per game, ranking second on the team in that category. In her three seasons with the Scots, Drushal has amassed 2,309 digs, placing her first amongst Wooster’s career leaders surpassing Mary-Kate Fowkes’ previous mark of 2,156 earlier this fall. Drushal racked up 56 digs, a new NCAA Division III record for a four-game match against Ohio Wesleyan back on October 2.

After a year’s absence from the team, Wolff returned for her senior campaign and took home honorable mention accolades, her third career postseason honor (she was a second-team selection in 2004 and honorable mention honoree in 2005). She was an all-around producer for the Scots, leading Wooster and finishing second in the NCAC in assists (10.75 per game), while also capitalizing on opportunities finishing first on the team in hitting percentage at a .284 clip with 137 kills on 352 attempts and 37 errors. In addition, Wolff was tied for third on the team with 11 aces, for an average of 0.22 per game. She becomes the first player in Wooster volleyball history with three seasons of 1,000 or more assists after collecting 1,043 this fall, and dished out 3,684 during her three years wearing a Scot jersey.

Rounding out Wooster’s All-NCAC selections is Wright, who earns the honor for the first time as a senior. Wright has been an asset to the Scot lineup after also choosing to sit out last fall. She was tied for the team lead in kills in 2007, pounding 2.95 per game, and also paced the team in blocks (0.75 bpg).
For the season, Wooster finished above the .500 mark with a 15-14 overall record and a 10-4 record in league action, good for third-place. Also of note, the Scots concluded their season going 9-3 over the final 12 matches after a tough 6-11 start, falling in the NCAC Tournament semifinals to No. 19-ranked Hiram College, 3-0.
