Senior Tristan Jordan (Virginia Beach, Va. / Floyd E. Kellam) capped his athletic career at The College of Wooster, finishing in 18th-place during Saturday’s triple jump competition at the NCAA Div. III Track & Field Championships in Oshkosh, Wis.

Jordan, Wooster’s first men’s competitor at the national meet since 2002, was seeded 14th going into the event, but fouled twice which left him with a top mark of 42 feet, 1.25 inches.

“Tristan had an outstanding career here, highlighted by making it into the national championships,” remarked long-time Fighting Scot head coach Dennis Rice.

Jordan reached the NCAA’s via a North Coast Athletic Conference-winning triple jump of 46 feet, 11 inches. That also broke a school record, established just two weeks prior by sophomore teammate Eric Dyer (Lexington, Mass. / Lexington).

“(Tristan) did some outstanding things during the course of his career … winning the conference title, setting the new school record, and obviously getting to the NCAA Championships. He should be very proud of what he accomplished.”
