Asst. Coach Darren Moore Darren Moore enters his fourth season with The College of Wooster soccer program, adding to an already impressive coaching résumé. Moore is an assistant with both the men’s and women’s teams. Prior to joining the Scots, Moore served as the Director of Coaching with the Pacesetter Soccer Club (northwest Ohio) from 1998-2005, leading 15 boys’ and girls’ youth teams to state championship titles. Before that, he was the head women’s soccer coach (interim) at Heidelberg College in 1998 as well as the assistant men’s coach at the ‘Berg from 1996-98. Moore played professionally for Northampton Town in England and for the Cleveland Caps of the United Systems of Independent Soccer Leagues. As a collegian, he earned scholarships to first, Truman State University, and then the University of Wis.-Green Bay, where he was a two-time all-Mid Continent Conference selection (1992-93). Moore, whose father played for the world-famous Manchester United and Chelsea FC of the English Premier League, holds the National Soccer Coaches Association of America’s national, advanced, and premier licenses, all of which were passed with distinction. Moore earned a bachelor’s degree in human development from Wis.-Green Bay in 1995, before going on to Heidelberg where he received his master’s degree in education. He now resides in Mansfield with his wife, Nadia, and their two golden retrievers, Killian and Tetley. |
