Wooster faced little trouble from the second-year varsity program, jumping out to a 3-1 lead after one quarter and it was 7-1 at halftime. The second half saw the Scots match 2-0 quarters for the final 10-point margin. In addition to Mies, Pat Coyne (Chatham, N.J. / Chatham), Conor Hannan (Wiscasset, Maine / North Yarmouth Academy), and Cole Simmons (Calabasas, Calif. / Chaminade College Prep) tossed in two goals apiece. Coyne added an assist for a three-point day, while Mark Weschler (Silver Spring, Md. / Our Lady of Good Counsel) led all players with six assists. On the defensive end, Wooster limited Mount St. Joseph to 14 shots, with goalies Matt Biester (Wallingford, Pa. / Strath Haven) making four saves during the first half and Calvin Todd (Deerfield, N.H. / Concord) five in the second. |
