Wooster Increases Home Winning Streak To 21 Games

WOOSTER, Ohio - The 10th-ranked College of Wooster men's basketball team defeated visiting Oberlin 91-53 in a North Coast Athletic Conference game Wednesday night to extend its home-winning streak to 21 games in Timken Gymnasium.

Wooster (6-1, 2-0 NCAC), gained control of the game by outscoring the Yeomen (0-7, 0-2 NCAC) 31-8 in the final 10:50 of the first half to gain a commanding 48-25 halftime lead.

Eight players for Wooster scored seven or more points, including freshman guard Ryan Snyder (Sebring, Ohio / Sebring McKinley) who led the Scots in scoring for the second time in the last three games with 16 points. Sophomore backcourt mate Antwyan Reynolds (Mansfield, Ohio / Mansfield) contributed 14 points and four assists.

In the frontcourt for Wooster, senior John Ellenwood (Sylvania, Ohio / Sylvania Northview) added nine points, a game-high 12 rebounds, and three assists, while freshman Bryan Nelson (Kettering, Ohio / Kettering Fairmont) had 10 points and a game-high four steals.

Oberlin's Maurice Elrod scored a game-high 23 points on 10-of-19 shooting, including 3-of-4 from beyond the arc, while Djordje Eremic added 14 points, five rebounds, and a team-high three assists.

Statistically, the Scots hit 56 percent of their shots from the field on 35-of-63 shooting, while holding Oberlin to just 37 percent shooting (21-of-57) on the night.
