The College of Wooster golf team finished 7th overall among a field of 16 at the Muskingum College Invitational this past Friday and Saturday (March 25-26) at the Eaglesticks Golf Course in Zanesville, Ohio .

The Scots opened with a 308 followed with a second round of 292 to finish just five strokes behind Transylvania University (595) in sixth-place. Otterbein College (569) edged Ohio Wesleyan University (574) to take first overall.

Wooster, which was ninth after day one, shot the fifth-best score on day two to move up two spots. Michael Tilden led the Scots, finishing tied for 10th among the field of 96 with a total score of 144. Tilden shot a 76 on the first day, and followed that up with the second-best round of the invite by shooting a Wooster season-low 68 on day two.

Sophomore Andy Van Horn also managed a top-20 finish, coming in a tie for 17th with two rounds of 73 for a score of 146.

Scot junior Brandon Tylka bested his season average of 79.7 with two sub-80 rounds, managing a 79 and 75, respectively, to finish in a tie for 49th. Wooster's other starters were senior Joe Punturi, who tied for 54th (80-76=156), and senior Tyler Scott, who tied for 57th (80-77=157).

Additionally, competing individually was freshman Patrick Lynch who posted rounds of 79 and 80 for a 159 total.

The Scots hit the links again this weekend with the Kenyon College Cup Invitational on April 2-3, hosted by Kenyon College at the Apple Valley Golf Course in Howard, Ohio.
