Anlyn Addis notched the first hat trick of her career Saturday afternoon against Earlham.

After sitting out last game with an injury, junior Anlyn Addis made a triumphant comeback, recording the first hat trick of her career and leading The College of Wooster field hockey team to its first win of the season over league foe Earlham College 5-0 at Cindy Barr Field in Wooster, Ohio. The Fighting Scots move to 1-2 on the season and open their North Coast Athletic Conference schedule 1-0, while the Quakers fall to 0-3, 0-1 NCAC.

Addis, who led the team in scoring a year ago, took no time to get back in the groove, netting the game's first score just 36 seconds in. She tacked on another unassisted goal following a goalie save with just 50 seconds remaining in the first to give the home team a 2-0 lead heading into the half.

After lighting up the goal for 20 shots in the first half, the Scot offense went to work again, logging 15 more looks at the goal, three of which found their mark. Freshman Alli Hall netted her first collegiate goal with 32:24 remaining in the second period off a pass from classmate Alex Cotter.

Cotter tacked on another assist just four minutes later, this time helping Addis complete her hat trick at 28:16, boosting the Wooster lead to 4-0. Sophomore Piper Annese closed out Wooster's scoring column by logging her first career goal with just 27 seconds remaining.

The Scot defense held firm all game against the visitors, preventing a single shot from getting to goalie Anne Leigh.
