Alanna Tryder Named NCAC Player of the Week
Callahan, who has been Woosters top finisher in all three events this fall following a 2002-03 academic year during which he was not enrolled in school, was the first harrier from an NCAC school to cross the finish line at the Great Lakes Colleges Association Championships on Sept. 13. Overall, he placed fifth out of a field of 119 runners, finishing the 8K course at Richmond, Ind., in 27:14. Tryder, a forward, scored in all three of the Scots games last week, helping to extend the teams winning streak to five. She had an assist on the game-winning goal versus the University of the South on Sept. 7, scored an unassisted goal on what proved to be the game-winner at Kenyon College on Sept. 9, and tallied one of Woosters four goals against Earlham College on Sept. 13. On the season, Tryder is tied for the team lead in scoring with 10 points on four goals and two assists. Woosters cross country team is off this week, while the field hockey team hosts a pair of important NCAC games against Oberlin College (2-2, 2-0 NCAC) and Wittenberg University (1-4, 0-2 NCAC) on Thursday and Saturday, respectively. |
